More Side Projects

In my spare time I make things on the internet. I’ve been written up everywhere from The Wall Street Journal, to Vice, to appreciative emails from Kenny Loggins son.

Tim Duncan Linkedin

Tim Duncan is known as a pretty serious, professional guy. So on the day of his retirement from the NBA (back in 2016) I created a Linkedin page for him.

Linkedin has since taken down the profile but here are some screenshots.

The Wire’s David Simon was a fan.

Chris Pratt is Super Mario

Upon hearing that Chris Pratt would be voicing Mario in the new movie, Peter and I created a version of Super Mario Bros that adds Chris Pratt voice clips to all of Mario's actions. Yes, it's as annoying as it sounds. Thankfully, the internet still enjoyed playing it.

Play it here (It doesn't work on mobile, or Safari, but that's what happens when copywriters try to code).

Or just watch this video of some random guy playing it:

This is probably my favorite feedback on anything I've ever done:

2Dumb2Destroy

With all the talk of chatGPT stealing our jobs and going full Skynet, Craig and I set out to create the world's first intentionally stupid A.I. Trained on stuff like Pauly Shore movies, all seven Police Academies and Homer Simpson quotes, it's an utter moron.

Kenny Log In

Candace, Craig, Jordan and I made a website that generates passwords from the lyrics of America's greatest singer songwriter. The internet got a kick out of it, including Kenny Loggins son who reached out and said he was a fan.

Sim Nimby

Owen and I created a Sim City parody making fun of NIMBY's (Not In My Backyard). The game's pretty simple, you can't build anything due to a series of increasingly absurd excuses.

You Have Not Died of Dysentery

Peter and I created a version of Oregon Trail where dysentery doesn't kill you, it just makes you pull over to poop, constantly. The challenge is to make it all the way to Oregon without soiling your breeches. As an added bonus, you get to read actual articles from the 1800's while you do your business.

Dr. Mario Insurance

A version of the classic Dr. Mario game that asks for your actual health insurance information before you start playing. The worse your insurance is, the harder the game gets. The game was created to raise money for political candidates who support Medicare for All (Via Act Blue).

Plumbers and Firemen

in April 2022 JJ Redick said Bob Cousy played against "Plumbers and Firemen." So, a different Steve and I created a set of trading cards featuring these 50's plumbers who may or may not have balled out during the early days of the NBA. We made a pack of twelve, below are a few of my favorites.

Myst FPS

Myst is one of the most cerebral, meditative and sophisticated games ever made. So we decided to fix all that by making it a First Person Shooter (or if you prefer, the first "Point and Kill" adventure).

Or watch this video of someone else playing it.

A Creative Director at the company that makes Myst even called it "PERFECTION."

Doomscroll Doom

To combat doomscrolling Owen and I created Doomscroll DOOM bot, a Twitter bot posting every frame of the video game DOOM, so you can stop doomscrolling and start DOOM scrolling.

At 24 frames a day, the bot is set to finish posting sometime in 2023, at which point you'll be able to DOOMscroll the entire game.

Cook Novels

People always complain about the long stories featured before online recipes. So for some bizarre reason a different Steve and I created Cook Novels. A website that puts recipes at the end of famous novels.
